The International Wrestling
Cartel’s fourth annual Revengeance spectacular took place this past Saturday,
October 13 at the famed Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth, Pa. It was a
night where Norm Connors attempted to re-take control. A night where Bobby
Williams was named new IWC Senior Official and given increased power,
longstanding crooked referee Steven Colter was finally put in line, and recent
turncoat referee CJ Sensation made his intentions known. He joined Dennis
Gregory’s faction to make a statement: he’s sick and tired of being a referee
and Norm Connors loyalist and wants to resume a full-time in-ring wrestling
schedule. Despite Norm’s statement that he’s only keeping CJ from the ring for
his own good, so as not to risk re-injuring the broken neck Sensation suffered
some years ago, CJ continued to balk in the face of authority.
CJ Sensation would not make his presence known as a referee until the evening’s
main event when Dennis Gregory, leader of the former Unholy Alliance, now
newly-christened The War Machine, defended his IWC Heavyweight Title against
“Double C” Claudio Castagnoli, searching for revenge following Gregory’s
physical run-ins with both Chris Hero as well as Larry Sweeney earlier this
year. After the ejection of CJ as referee by promoter Norm Connors, Gregory was
a very lucky man to escape with his title, but that he did by the proverbial
skin of his teeth. Following the match was a distasteful, uncalled-for act, as
Gregory’s ego went out of control, as he ordered ring announcer Chuck Roberts to
announce him as champion. When Chuck showed hesitation, Gregory grew frustrated.
Finally, Chuck let out months of frustration of his own, telling the 4-time IWC
Champion exactly what he himself, and all the IWC fans, felt about Dennis
Gregory. Gregory snapped, physically assaulted Chuck Roberts, and smashed his
throat into a folding chair. Chuck received medical attention following the

The Super Indy Championship Match proved once again that this newly-christened
War Machine continues to work best with the numbers advantage. “Fabulous” John
McChesney defended his title in a highly-entertaining competitive contest
against Ring of Honor star and internationally renowned competitor Davey
Richards, but the “Bastard Son of 1,000 Corpses” Sebastian Dark made his
presence felt, slipping a pair of brass knuckles to McChesney, bringing a very
tainted ending to a spectacular match.
The quest of Sexual Harassment, Eric Xtasy & Justin Idol, to gain tag team gold
for the first time together had the chance to come to fruition on this night,
but would we see the serious Harassment or their lighthearted side? The match
was well in-hand, thanks in part to involvement from Shiima Xion, avenging the
“hit” the Gambino Family had put on him this past August when they broke a glass
champagne bottle across his face. However, as Justin Idol had Mickey pinned, the
referee was attempting to restore order with Eric Xtasy & Marshall Gambino on
the outside. Once the referee had returned, the distraction cost Sexual
Harassment the advantage, and the Gambinos successfully retained the tag titles.
An upset Justin Idol told Eric Xtasy he was sick of the distractions, the mind
games, the comedy act, and the lack of focus. Idol left Xtasy alone in the ring,
clearly distraught that the title shot he had fought for so many months to earn,
had just slipped through their fingers. Was Eric Xtasy showing a lack of focus
or was it an honest mistake? Sexual Harassment may have their own issues to iron
out before pursuing another title shot.
The unstoppable suplex machine Ray Rowe met “Havana Pitbull” Ricky Reyes
one-on-one in a rematch from their No Excuses 3 encounter. It seemed as though
Reyes had Rowe locked in the lethal Dragon Sleeper, however Rowe drove Reyes
back into the corner, inadvertently ramming his own head into the turnbuckle in
the process. Reyes sensed an opening instantly and pounced, taking Rowe down and
unleashing a vile barrage of hard elbow and knee strikes to the top of the head
and the temple area. Rowe attempted to fight through, but in the end just could
not defend himself any longer. The referee had no choice but to call the match,
as Rowe had been knocked out. Reyes unleashed an explosion of aggression like
perhaps none other he’s unleashed in IWC to date, as its clear his hunger and
desire to climb back to the top of the IWC Title picture, and recapture the belt
he was screwed out of twice, continues to grow stronger.
Babyface Fire, Shiima Xion & Jason Gory got phase one of their revenge on The
Gambino Family for their brutal attack on Shiima last August with a champagne
bottle, as BFF reigned supreme over “DeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco & Vendetta
following a breathtaking 630 splash from “The Future of Fashion”. Following the
match however, it seemed the “hit” on Shiima’s career that had started in August
was still in full effect. Vendetta, wielding a billy club, blasted Xion & Gory
in the head several times following the match, forcing new Senior Official Bobby
Williams & Promoter Norm Connors to confer and rule the only thing they could:
As a result of excessive violence following the match, Vendetta was hereby
suspended for a period of 60 days! Jimmy DeMarco is now partner-less as BFF hope
to continue to climb toward the tag team titles and Mickey &x Marshall Gambino.
“Balls Hot” Troy Lords ended his best-of-three series with “Da Good Guy” Azrieal,
besting him with the X-Buster, and as a result, earning an opportunity at the
Super Indy Title at November Pain back at the Court Time Sports Center on
November 10. After six months of sacrifice, Lords finally has another shot at
the title he originally worked six years for to capture. Even though John
McChesney now has plenty of back-up and no shortage of confidence, Troy Lords
has always seemed to have his number in any situation.
Speaking of Troy Lords, he also made his presence felt following the match
pitting “The Shooter” Brent Albright against the one and only Super Hentai.
Albright used his size and power advantage to wear away at the arm of Hentai had
had nearly broken this past August, to become one of the very few men who can
say they’ve defeated the double-tough Hentai via submission. Following the
match, a beat down on Hentai from Albright and Hentai’s former tag team
championship partner Sebastian Dark was interrupted by Lords, who ran both men
off with a chair. After nearly killing one another last year, Lords had come to
Hentai’s aid, which didn’t sit well with such a proud competitor like Hentai.
What were Lords’ motivations? Was he merely out there to fight a common enemy or
does he once again look at Super Hentai and see the man he idolized and looked
up to for so many years as opposed to the bitter and selfish HENTAI that he had
fought against so hard?
Faith in Nothing, Christian Faith & Vincent Nothing, dominated tag team
wrestling in the state of Ohio for the past year-plus, beating every team put in
front of them from Irish Airborne to Southern Comfort. FIN brought their
high-impact aggressive style to IWC rings for the first time, facing and soundly
defeating former IWC Tag champions Johnny Gargano & Michael “The Bomber” Façade.
Perhaps the most interested observer? “Prophet of Profit” Chris Maverick, who
seemed interested in talking business with FIN. After making an offer to, and
being turned down by, Justin Idol earlier that night, it’s clear Maverick is
ready to get back into the managing game, and is looking for talent to
represent. Is FIN smart enough to avoid money-hungry Maverick or will “The
Notorious MAV” manipulate another promising tag team?
Bubba the Bulldog, not scheduled to be on the card, demanded an opponent and
received a very formidable one in the “Big Daddy of Destruction” J-Rocc. Bubba
got himself back on the winning track, but not without using the ropes for
illegal leverage. |
