NO EXCUSE FOR MCCHESNEY MARRING TITLE CLASSIC
IWC’s annual “No Excuses” supercard at the Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth, PA saw a surefire classic main event marred by the involvement of a jealous & vindictive John McChesney. As IWC Champion Logan Shulo & #1 Contender Dalton Castle put on a clinic of the competition, heart, and desire that has epitomized IWC, “Big League” interjected himself at the expense of the “Party Peacock”, seemingly furious over Dalton receiving the title opportunity over him. Logan was unaware of the incident, and went on to retain his championship, though sources say neither Dalton nor Logan were satisfied by the end result and the high degree McChesney played in the outcome. There will certainly be much more to this issue in the weeks ahead.
The huge news of the night was the crowning of a NEW Super Indy Champion as Facade was reunited with the gold he parted ways with some four month ago, surviving “Callihan Death Machine” Sami Callihan and Rich Swann, two men who had recently beaten Facade in individual competition, in a three-way match. Furthermore, Facade did not just win, the manner in which he won was all the more impressive. Facade made Sami Callihan tap out to the “Dread Lock” submission hold, a visual VERY rarely seen anywhere in this industry. Facade certainly earned his way to calling himself a 2-time Super Indy Champion, however early reports estimate Facade may have suffered a ruptured eardrum due to the physicality of this battle, and his condition over the next few weeks is in doubt. We did see Facade and Logan Shulo cross paths at the end of the night, both displaying their championships and seemingly eager to settle a longstanding competitive rivalry between the two. IWC’s two top titleholders seem to be on a collision course to prove ultimate supremacy in IWC!
Zema Ion’s IWC homecoming was met with resistance from a young, very cocky upstart. Just days after battling Rob Van Dam for the TNA X Division Title at Bound for Glory in Phoenix, AZ, Zema was happy to just meet and greet fans & friends until young Andrew Palace stepped up to the plate and called out Ion in front of the IWC world. Zema, never one to refuse a fight, accepted the challenge, and defeated the young brash braggart. While Palace was not victorious he certainly showed a great deal of promise and potential in hanging with one of the best in the industry anywhere today.
One man who could not hang in IWC was James Nutter, who was unceremoniously shown the door by long-time former friend & tag partner Aiden Veil. In spite of a shoulder injury, which was twice re-aggravated by Nutter and his selfish motivations, Veil proved that his hard work in scratching and clawing up the IWC ranks was a better formula that Nutter’s plans of crashing IWC’s Proving Ground and sneaking in the proverbial back door of the company. After a painful receipt in the form of a steel chair by Aiden’s new pal Jordan Lennox (who was also attacked by Nutter some weeks ago), Nutter was wished well in his future endeavors and was history, as Aiden celebrated what was, professionally and personally, the biggest win of his young, rapidly-rising career.
In other action, IWC Tag Champions The Founding Fathers (Dennis Gregory, Jimmy Vega$ & Super Hentai) successfully defended in a rare six-man tag championship match vs. all three members of Blue Collar Slaughterhouse (Matt Sagaris, Bronco McBride & David DiMera)… Matt “HD” Cannon’s recruitment of Michael Tarver was enough to overcome Team Big League’s John McChesney & Bobby Fish… Justin Idol completed step one in his goal of defeating every Team Big League member & earning and IWC wrestling contract again when he defeated Chest Flexor… Mike Rayne bested Will Calrissian with the “Doppler Effect”… Keith Haught was victorious against Brian McDowell.
