November Pain served many purposes on the road the most historic weekend in IWC history: “A Call to Arms” weekend at the Court Time Sports Center on December 7th & 8th. It will be a tribute to spirit, it will be controlled chaos, and most of all it will be a celebration of IWC’s past, present, and future.

One purpose served is we now know all three titles will be defended at A Call to Arms 4. After Dennis Gregory’s cheap win over Chris Hero, putting his feet on the ropes to capture the winning pinfall, Gregory was introduced to his opponent for the December supershow weekend: newfound #1 contender Ray Rowe, who ended his series with “Havana Pitbull” Ricky Reyes earlier in the night after a brutally physical match-up that saw Rowe literally knock Reyes out with eight consecutive brutal German suplexes. Rowe and Gregory went nose-to-nose and the announcement would have an extra twist… To keep the competitors in the ring, and perhaps more importantly to keep the rest of Dennis Gregory’s War Machine out of the ring… the title match would be contested inside a 15 foot high steel cage!

The #1 contender to the Super Indy Title was also determined. After John McChesney got himself cheaply disqualified in his match with Troy Lords earlier in the night, ending with a disgusting beat down of Balls Hot, before, of all people, Super Hentai, led a locker room revolt to make the save, The Fabulous One could look ahead to his next top contender. It was former champion “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney who outlasted both previous top contender Davey Richards, and Justin Idol who made his first venture into IWC singles competition after growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of seriousness and focus from Sexual Harassment partner Eric Xtasy. After the match, Sweeney’s focus shifted to not only gaining his Super Indy title back, but revenge. Revenge for being screwed out of the title, and revenge for being busted wide open by McChesney and Dennis Gregory last July. Sweeney demanded that his Super Indy Title opportunity with John McChesney… be contested inside a steel cage as well. Sweeney’s wish was granted and the match was confirmed for December 8.

Without question, the most personal and violent rivalry in IWC right now was on display when Mickey & Marshall Gambino entered their element, a streetfight, against the two men whose careers they attempted to end in a couple of violent “hits”, Shiima Xion & Jason Gory, Babyface Fire. BFF started the match on fire, seeking revenge against the Family, but with Jimmy DeMarco, Viki Gambino, and flunkies Flexor & Ferrari close by, the numbers game soon become an issue. The numbers game, plus the usage of chairs, metal trays, and even thumbtacks led to another dominant Gambino showing, however following the match, the Gambinos’ dastardly tactics came back to haunt them. An overly cocky Jimmy DeMarco stayed in the ring taunting a fallen Shiima & Gory with the same tazer he used on Jason Gory in Gory’s home, but BFF recovered and held DeMarco hostage with his very own tazer until The Gambinos would agree to give BFF the tag title match they so desperately craved… inside a steel cage! The Gambinos had no choice but to accept, and DeMarco ended up tazed regardless, as Gory & Xion took great delight in exacting a small measure of revenge. Now the faction that deserves to be locked up for their recent actions, will be locked inside 15 feet of steel with their one-time victims. Gambinos vs. Babyface Fire for the IWC Tag Team Titles!

We also saw the return of a bona fide IWC legend: the longest reigning IWC Champion in history, the incomparable Shirley Doe, who joined longtime friend Super Hentai and Delirious, a friend of Hentai’s dating back to their time together training under former NWA World Champion Dory Funk Jr., in their war with the one-time Unholy Alliance, now-dubbed War Machine of “The Shooter” Brent Albright, “Fabulous” John McChesney and Doe and Hentai’s former tag partner Sebastian Dark. While it seems that Hentai and Troy Lords still have difficulty trusting one another and uniting together after the wars they had throughout 2006, Hentai knew he could call on Shirley Doe to help fight off a group each man had once devoted their lives to before it turned into a glorified Dennis Gregory support group. Shirley Doe’s return did not disappoint, scoring the winning pinfall for his team after a top-rope huracanrana and Sillyhead 2. Doe’s return marks another major addition to a growing list of individuals becoming increasingly fed up with Dennis Gregory and his War Machine.

We also saw the return of Eric Xtasy’s “All Male Revue” interview segment with special guest… Bubba the Bulldog. After some good-natured fun by Eric, Bubba very quickly got down to business. When faced with the news that “The Franchise” Shane Douglas was making his IWC return for “A Call to Arms 4” on December 8, Bubba was enraged. Bubba is the man responsible for ending Shane Douglas’ IWC career in the summer of 2004, and issued a very passionate warning and threat to The Franchise, claiming that he was more than prepared to do it once again. The bad blood between Bubba and The Franchise clearly hasn’t subsided despite the 3 years Douglas has been away from IWC rings, as Bubba’s repeated claims of being Pittsburgh’s best wrestler would no doubt be up for debate with the former World champion Douglas in the house. The latest Bubba/Franchise collision is inevitable and on December 8th it should be a confrontation that will not soon be forgotten.

Also on the show, Eric Xtasy & Justin Idol were victorious over upstarts Johnny Gargano & Michael “The Bomber” Façade with their patented Rose Creeper maneuver. Earlier in the night, Eric had attempted to reason with Justin Idol, to explain he was ready to be the serious and focused athlete Justin wanted him to be all along, so Sexual Harassment can finally climb the ladder and become tag champions. The team looked good tonight, but is Eric ready to stay focused on his goal for the long haul? And is Justin Idol satisfied enough to halt his plans of singles competition and continue on as a part of the Sexual Harassment dynasty?

We also saw a milestone reached in IWC, as the first one-on-one women’s contest in IWC history took place, which saw current SHIIMER champion Sara Del Rey defeat a very accomplished athlete in her own right, and the personal translator of Delirious, Daizee Haze. Daizee brought the fight to Del Rey, but Sara was able to defeat her with the Royal Butterfly hold into a suplex. Hopefully, this is the first of many women’s matches in IWC!
