IWC’s November Pain 2008 at the Court Time Sports Center saw the first ever title defense from NEW IWC Heavyweight champion Shiima Xion, who continued his meteoric rise against the man he scored a tremendous upset victory over in the IWC Title Tournament Semifinals, “Baddest Man In IWC” Ray Rowe. Shiima Xion was able to make his first title defense a successful one, however once it seemed J-Rocc and his 350+ pound monster Shane Taylor had hit the ring to capitalize on a weakened Rowe, Shiima charged back to the ring to aid his rival, who had shown respect to the IWC champion moments earlier, However, when Shiima returned, he was met with a vile Ray Rowe clothesline and a shocking revelation: somehow, some way, J-Rocc has re-united with Ray Rowe! As Rowe, Rocc, and Taylor all celebrated their shocking swerve, questions swirled throughout the building. How did J-Rocc convince Ray Rowe to re-join him? What did J-Rocc see in Ray Rowe some months back, and did it lead to this shocking reunion? And who can stop the most dangerous and intimidating incarnation of the Cleveland Mafia yet?
While one team became stronger than ever, the most dangerous faction in IWC history continued to implode as Mickey & Marshall Gambino successfully defended the IWC Tag Titles against former running buddies “DeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco & Vendetta, The Hollywood Balds. Going into this wild encounter, Vicki Gambino as well as the Gambino Entourage Flexor & Ferrari had refused to pick a side, however Flexor chose this match to make his choice known, slipping a pair of brass knuckles to Mickey to retain the titles. Flexor & Ferrari left together, however Vicki seemed very upset about the whole situation. Where does Vicki’s allegiance stand and what’s next in this war of “family” members?
Too Cold Scorpio and “Cuban Crippler” Ricky Reyes spent nearly twenty minutes battling in one of the most evenly contested competitive bouts in IWC history. Both men shined on the mat, in the air, and in the striking game. Reyes cinched in his lethal Dragon Sleeper, however literally seconds before passing out, Scorpio was able to shift his weight over top of Reyes to pin the former IWC champion. Seeing the innovative aerialist unconscious after the match, Reyes was frustrated to learn the match was NOT stopped for Scorpio passing out, and was instead stopped due to Reyes’ shoulders being pinned. The Rottweiler was very frustrated, but it was Too Cold who made his IWC return a successful one, but literally just by seconds.
Dennis Gregory’s battle with the one main he has yet to beat “Fabulous” John McChesney never got underway, as Gregory demanded the match start before their scheduled time. An enraged Fabulous One, still in street clothes, hit the ring, and thanks to his temper fell directly into Gregory’s trap. Gregory assaulted McChesney with a screwdriver he found under the ring, lacerating McChesney and forcing the former 4-time Super Indy champion to be carried away under doctor’s care. This savage assault seems to indicate Gregory’s realization that John McChesney is the one man Gregory hasn’t — and perhaps can’t — defeat. Gregory has delayed the inevitable but one must think John McChesney is still out to prove who the real reason for Gregory’s recent IWC Title successes has been.
Super Hentai defeated former IWC Tag Team Championship partner “Bastard Son of 1,000 Corpses” Sebastian Dark in brutal fashion culminating with a series of headbutts that echoed in sickening fashion throughout the building. However, following the match, Hentai had other orders of business as he summoned promoter Norm Connors into the ring. Hentai explained the significance of something he had a big hand in establishing – The Super Indy Tournament. Using names of past tournament entrants like Christopher Daniels and CM Punk, Hentai claimed Connors underestimated the significance of the tournament to the wrestling industry when he decided to abandon the annual tradition earlier this year. Norm promised to take the thought under consideration, as Hentai attempted to slap some respect into the still-fired CJ Sensation, who jumped the rail in an attempt to claim himself worthy of Super Indy contention. Will Super Hentai, the man that put Super Indy on the map, become responsible for the reinstatement of IWC’s signature tournament?
Sexual Harassment moved one step closer to an IWC Tag Title rematch with a victory over the most talked about and critically acclaimed tag team in Ohio today, the debuting Irish Airborne, Dave & Jake Crist. Airborne dominated much of the match in an impressive first-showing, however the same missing piece to the puzzle that brought Xtasy & Idol the IWC Tag gold, the Strawberry Surprise, was what led them to winning this all-important contendership clash. Will Harassment find their way back into the title hunt? And will Irish Airborne become the next major force in IWC’s tag division?
Logan Shulo scored a big-time victory over Michael “The Bomber” Façade, overpowering the Suburban Terrorist with a powerbomb. This hotly contested bout showed both athletes building from major momentum boosting performances in the IWC Title Tournament and also solidified that the next generation of IWC stars is very much well in hand.
Also, J-Rocc’s monster Shane Taylor obliterated Flexor of the Gambino Entourage in approximately one minute. Flexor had been on the receiving end of Jimmy DeMarco’s C4, and J-Rocc sent his charge to pick up the scraps. It was merely a precursor to the dominance and power J-Rocc would possess by the end of the evening.
